The universe and all its mystery, to some, pale in the unexplored complexity of the human body. Many scientists want to explore the skies, the depths, and search for “The Theory of Everything.” But for a team of scientists, the scientific frontier is the eye and brain. They are the overlooked universe, a galaxy within an ocean of unanswered marvels waiting for discovery.
‘It’s where the magic happens! We can now make the invisible, visible!” Professor John Nolan is quoted as saying.
While the 21st century has launched the nutrition revolution, nutrient depletion has contributed to alarming, epidemic-level rates of macular degeneration, the leading cause of age-related blindness, and is increasingly linked to Alzheimer’s disease, one of the fastest-growing public health challenges of our time.
In 2008, a startling observation was made by scientists that by using a combination of three dietary carotenoids, they could solve these ocular and neuro failures.
The story begins in the marigold fields of Puebla, Mexico, and travels to the Waterford Research Centre in coastal Ireland and further on to The Omega 3 rich Norwegian sea and arrives in Singapore, where Olympic athlete’s visual precision is tested.
The film demonstrates the beauty of science and nature and delivers the resounding message that the answers to the magic of the eye are just beginning to be revealed. The certainty of scientific nutrition is beyond the theory of something, it is conclusive, and the future is astonishing.
