A Vision for Vision: From 20 Years of Research to the Big Screen
In a recent interview with David McCullagh on RTÉ Radio 1’s Today with David McCullagh, Prof. John Nolan discussed A Vision for Vision, a new documentary exploring more than 20 years of research into the relationship between nutrition, vision and brain health.
The documentary looks at the science behind the research, as well as the people, collaborations and questions that have shaped the work over the years.
Over 20 Years of Research
The research behind A Vision for Vision has focused on the relationship between nutrition and human health, with particular interest in how nutrition may influence vision and cognitive health as people age.
Over the past two decades, this work has developed into an international programme involving researchers and collaborators from countries including the USA, Mexico, Norway and Singapore.
Long-term research requires time, collaboration and a willingness to follow the evidence. The documentary explores how the research has developed and some of the key questions that have continued to drive the work
Bringing the Research to a Wider Audience
Scientific research is often communicated through academic papers, conferences and scientific publications. A documentary provides an opportunity to tell that story in a different way.
A Vision for Vision gives audiences an insight into the people behind the research and the questions that have driven the work over many years.
Prof. John Nolan has expressed his appreciation to the many researchers, students and collaborators who have contributed to the work over the years, as well as the team behind A Vision for Vision for bringing the story to the screen.
The documentary provides an opportunity for a wider audience to learn more about the science and to gain an insight into the long-term research and collaboration involved in understanding human health.
